From the 2030 Agenda of the Metropolitan City of Milan to Municipal Urban Planning Documents (DUP) through shared climate change adaptation indicators and targets.

Achieved outcome

The project has delivered ready-to-use digital tools and open datasets, primarily designed for Municipalities and Metropolitan Cities, Public administrations in the Milan metropolitan area.

 

Key outputs available on the platform:

  1. Climate Adaptation Indicator Database

    • Shared across metropolitan and municipal levels  

    • Enables performance-based monitoring of climate adaptation goals  

    • Aligns with both higher-level frameworks and local planning tools (e.g., municipal Unified Planning Documents – DUP) 

  2. MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) Model.  User-friendly Excel-based tool for tracking:

  4. IndicaMi DataHubOnline territorial database hosted on the Metropolitan City of Milan’s portal.

  5. Capacity Building ResourcesVideo lectures and training materials for policymakers and technical staff.

Long-Term Expected Outcomes & Benefits 

​

The project aims to generate lasting impacts by:  

  • mainstreaming climate-smart practices into local planning instruments,  

  • enhancing coordination between regional and local governments on adaptation policy evaluation,

  • raising awareness of climate risks (including socio-economic impacts) across all governance levels,

  • strengthening institutional capacity to secure PNRR/EU funding through improved project design and reporting.
